Hair Straightening Straight Facts.

Chemical straightening is very damaging and offers no guarantee of
a consistent performance. Every time you use a straightening
cream, the only thing that happens is a straight mess. With all the
hype about super straight locks and it’s no wonder that many are
simply fed up with trying to achieve salon quality at home. Worry not,
though, all it takes is the right tools and techniques, and any woman
can have silky, smooth ,supermodel hair.
First and foremost, lets get the facts straight about straightening
creams, balms, and gels. These “miracle” products will NOT make
your hair poker straight., much in the same way that curling products
do not make your hair curly. These products are simply designed to
enhance what your hair does naturally. Straightening creams help to
smooth down the hair by taming down frizz and flyaway hairs. Curling
creams do the same to enhance curls by locking out any frizz that
would make your hair look undone. Using more of any product, no
matter it’s use, does not mean it will work better. A whole handful of
gel will make your hair greasy and flat, not extra straight. A little is all
that’s needed.

Chemicals in permanent hair straighteners, in salons and at home,
are very unreliable. Even trained professionals can get uneven
results so you can only imagine what damage you could do to
yourself at home. All chemicals are harsh and by trying to
permanently straighten your hair you could run the risk of damaging
it beyond repair.

Your best option for keeping up with the latest hair trends is to invest
and flat iron. By investing, of course, I mean investing in a quality flat
iron to use at home. Cheap store brands and makers of at-home
color kits should be avoided. These irons will fry your hair and do
more damage than good in achieving smooth results. Look for
professional brands(FHI and CHI are always a good choice) and
spend the money on them. They will last multiple times longer than
anything store bought, come with warranties and have much more
even heat distribution so each section of your hair will be
straightened with less time and better results.

To protect your hair when flat ironing you need to be using a thermal
protection spray. These sprays are extremely light weight and will
not weigh down your hair. A very light sprits is all that is needed to
keep your hair safe from the heat of your iron. Before flat ironing,
check to see if there is a gauge to adjust the temperature so that
you are using the correct amount of heat for your hair. Then just
section and go. A flat iron are a very useful tool for creating the
many of the most popular looks now donned by celebrities and are a
much more affordable and less damaging alternative to chemical
straightening.  By investing in a good flat iron and using the
products you need appropriately there is no reason for your hair to
not look like you just stepped out of a magazine.
